The largest single order in Lännen Tractors' history – deliveries for demanding NATO use

Lännen Tractors Oy, a subsidiary of Summa Defence Plc, has received a €35 million order for NATO‑compatible Lännen 8800M‑DF multipurpose machines. The customer is a European NATO member state. Deliveries will take place in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

"This is the largest single order in the history of Lännen Tractors. It strengthens both the competitiveness of our product and our position within the European defence industry. We are extremely proud to deliver these machines for demanding NATO operations." – Veli Ollila, CEO, Lännen Tractors Oy

Extensive delivery package

In addition to the multipurpose machines, the delivery includes comprehensive spare‑parts packages as well as commissioning and maintenance training for the customer’s personnel. The overall package ensures efficient, safe and long‑term operation of the machines in demanding operational conditions.

Production increasing – modern factory supports higher volume

Lännen Tractors began preparing for a significant increase in production volumes already with measures launched in November 2025. The nearly two‑hectare modern factory in Loimaa, Southwest Finland, equipped with modern machinery, provides excellent conditions for expanding capacity.

Production efficiency improvements and expansion are currently underway in cooperation with leading industry development partners, Kaizen Institute Finland Oy and Ziirto Oy. With their support, Lännen Tractors is enhancing its production processes to meet the growing needs of the defence industry.

Lännen 8800M‑DF granted a NATO Product Code

The Lännen 8800M‑DF multipurpose machine has been granted an NSN product code confirming NATO compatibility. This opens significant new opportunities within NATO procurement systems. With support from Summa Defence, the company has strengthened its presence in the European market, where no comparable multipurpose machine of similar size and performance is available.

Key features of the machine

  • excellent mobility both off‑road and on‑road

  • full remote control of all machine functions

  • wide and rapidly interchangeable selection of work tools

These capabilities make the machine a highly effective asset for engineer units in operational tasks such as obstacle clearing and construction, anti-tank mine emplacement, and the building and maintenance of field infrastructure.
